Beach rip current alerts
The National Weather Service Mobile issued a Rip Current Statement on Oct. 19 at 7:08 a.m. CDT, in effect until Oct. 20 at 6:00 a.m. CDT, covering the Florida coasts of Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa, plus Mobile and Baldwin in Alabama. NWS Tallahassee has also issued a wind alert and high rip current risk for Walton, Bay and Gulf.
