The City of Callaway has issued a precautionary boil water notice for customers in the area of South Comet Avenue and Olokee Street, according to a notice posted on the city’s website on Oct. 28, 2026.
A boring contractor hit a 2-inch water main at the intersection, starting an emergency water outage at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Water was restored by 1 p.m. the same day.
The city advises that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled, using a rolling boil for one minute, or replaced with bottled water. Customers may see discolored water or air in the lines for about 24 hours after service returns.
