Updated Oct. 30, 2026: President Donald Trump amended Florida’s major disaster declaration for Hurricane Isaias, making additional federal assistance available to disaster survivors in the state, according to an FDEM post dated Oct. 29, 2026. The storm affected Florida Oct. 6-12, 2026, the post says.

The post does not list the counties covered by the amendment or the types of aid added. It also does not say when or how residents can apply.

On Oct. 16, Governor Ron DeSantis said the state had asked the president for a major disaster declaration after Isaias. The request sought Public Assistance for 15 counties, which aids local governments, and Individual Assistance for eligible residents in eight designated counties, which aids households. That release described a request. It did not say the request had been approved.

The Oct. 29 post does not state whether the amendment includes Individual Assistance for households. Residents should check FDEM and FEMA for the list of designated counties and the application process.
