October is the standout. It is the driest month of the year, with 2.82 inches of rain and 3.5 days with a tenth of an inch or more, and the heat has broken: only 0.9 days reach 90 degrees in an average October, down from 8.7 in September.
April is the spring match: highs near 76, four rainy days and no 90-degree days on average. November cools to highs near 72 with 4.3 rainy days and still no freezing nights in the 30-year average. March is mild too, with highs near 71, but it averages 5.2 rainy days.
May is drier than April, with 3.7 rainy days, but it is warmer: about 25 of its 31 days reach 80 degrees.
How hot does it get on Emerald Coast courses in summer?
Hotter than many visitors expect. The average high is 90.9 degrees in July and 90.6 in August, and August averages 16.9 days at 90 or above, the most of any month. July and August are also the wettest months for rainy days, with 7.2 and 8.1 days of measurable rain.
That pattern points to early tee times from June through September. The National Weather Service tracks lightning and heat risk day by day; check the forecast before a round.
