The Milton City Council is scheduled to consider a rezoning on Berryhill Street and the annexation of a commercial parcel on Highway 90 on Tuesday, Nov. 10, according to two public notices posted by the City of Milton, in Santa Rosa County, Florida. The notices carry no publication date. Neither item has been approved.

What is proposed for 6751 Berryhill Street in Milton?

An authorized agent has applied to rezone the parcel at 6751 Berryhill Street from R-1 Single-Family Residential to RC-1 Residential Commercial, according to the city’s notice of proposed rezoning and Future Land Use Map (FLUM) amendment. The parcel (No. 03-1N-28-2530-07300-0010) is southeast of Berryhill Street and Mary Street.

The application also asks to change the parcel’s FLUM designation, the city’s map of intended future uses, from Single-Family Residential to Residential Commercial. The notice does not say what the applicant plans to build or operate on the property.

When are the Milton hearings on the Berryhill Street rezoning?

The notice lists three dates. All hearings are in the Council Chambers at Milton City Hall, 6738 Dixon Street.

Step Date and time
City Council public hearing (first reading) Tuesday, Nov. 10, 6:30 p.m.
Planning Board review and recommendation to the Council Tuesday, Nov. 17, 5:30 p.m.

The notice puts the Planning Board’s recommendation a week after the Council’s first reading.

What is Milton proposing to annex on Highway 90?

The City of Milton proposes to annex one parcel of about 2.08 acres at 6462 Highway 90, according to a separate public notice. The parcel (No. 09-1N-28-0000-04100-0000) lies northwest of Highway 90 and south of Campbell Lane. It is currently developed with commercial and retail uses.

The annexation would come through a petition to voluntarily annex the territory into the city. It provides for a C-2 General Commercial zoning classification.

The City Council will review the annexation on Nov. 10, and any member of the public may speak at that meeting, the notice says. The notice does not give a time or location for the annexation item.
