Santa Rosa and Escambia counties will hand out 1,000 holiday meal boxes in a drive-thru event on Tuesday, Nov. 24, according to a Santa Rosa County news release posted Nov. 4, 2026. The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) West Florida Research and Education Center (WFREC) runs the Farm to City Food Distribution with Feeding the Gulf Coast and the Santa Rosa County Farm Bureau.
Where and when to pick up a box
The release lists one distribution site in each county. Each site starts car line-up at 8 a.m. and hands out boxes from 9 a.m. until all boxes are distributed.
| County | Site | Distribution starts | Car line-up |
|---|---|---|---|
| Santa Rosa | Clyde L. Gracey Milton Community Center, 5629 Byrom Street, Milton | 9 a.m., until all boxes are gone | 8 a.m. |
| Escambia | Echo Life Church, 3880 N. Davis Hwy., Pensacola | 9 a.m., until all boxes are gone | 8 a.m. |
The release gives 500 boxes for families in Santa Rosa County and 500 for families in Escambia County.
How the distribution works
Boxes are first come, first served, with a limit of two families per car. The release says boxes are available while supplies last.
Each box contains a turkey or a ham, depending on availability, along with traditional Thanksgiving side items. UF/IFAS WFREC and the Santa Rosa County Farm Bureau add fresh, locally grown produce, including collard greens, turnips, cabbage and sweet potatoes, to complete each family’s holiday meal.
